CNC Machining Tolerance Standards & Dimensional Accuracy Specifications

Overview

Tolerance is the core benchmark of precision manufacturing quality. ZHD Precision establishes a unified, factory-wide tolerance standard system covering prototype machining, small-batch trial production and mass production. All processes strictly follow ISO 2768 general tolerance standards and industrial customized precision specifications. We stabilize dimensional accuracy, geometric tolerance, assembly clearance and surface flatness across all batches, ensuring interchangeability, assembly consistency and long-term operational stability of custom mechanical parts.

This page serves as the official technical specification reference for all custom projects, including conventional standard tolerance, mechanical geometric tolerance, material tolerance deviation and ultra-precision customized tolerance.

General Machining Tolerance Standards (ISO 2768)

All conventional parts adopt unified ISO 2768-mk standard by default unless clients specify customized tolerance requirements.

General Machining Tolerance Standards (ISO 2768)
General tolerances

CNC Milling Tolerance

Standard dimensional tolerance: ±0.02mm. Ultra-precision customized tolerance ranges from ±0.005mm to ±0.01mm. It controls flatness within ≤0.01mm per 100mm, parallelism and verticality within ±0.015mm, and positioning hole tolerance within ±0.01mm.

CNC Turning Tolerance

Standard turning tolerance reaches ±0.015mm, and ultra-precision shaft tolerance can achieve ±0.005mm. It controls roundness and concentricity within ≤0.008mm, ensuring stable surface consistency for all rotary precision components.

Swiss-type Lathe Micro Machining Tolerance

It achieves ±0.005mm tolerance for micro pins and slender shafts, realizing ultra-high concentricity control for miniature precision parts. This process perfectly matches tiny critical component demands for semiconductor and medical equipment.

EDM & Wire Cutting Tolerance

It maintains ±0.01mm precision for fine slits and complex special-shaped cavities. It delivers zero-burr finishing for hard alloy components that cannot be processed by conventional cutting methods.
